This Code of Conduct outlines the principles guiding our practice.

1. Respect and Dignity

Treat all clients and their families with kindness, empathy, and without discrimination.

Honour the cultural, spiritual, and personal beliefs of each individual.
2. Professional Integrity

Provide services within the scope of end-of-life doula practice, offering non-medical support.

Accurately represent qualifications and experience.

Refer clients to appropriate professionals when needs exceed our scope.
3. Confidentiality

Safeguard all personal and sensitive information.

Share information only with consent or when legally required.
4. Informed Consent

Ensure clients understand the nature and scope of services.

Obtain and document consent before commencing services.
5. Competence and Continuing Education

Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain and enhance skills.

Stay informed about best practices in end-of-life care.
6. Safety and Well-being

Prioritise the physical and emotional safety of clients.

Maintain appropriate insurance coverage as required by NSW regulations.
7. Compliance with Legal and Ethical Standards

Adhere to the NSW Code of Conduct for Non-registered Health Practitioners.

Follow guidelines set by professional bodies such as Holistic End of Life and Death Care Australia (HELD).
8. Conflict of Interest

Disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

Avoid situations where personal interests could influence professional judgment.
9. Child Safety

If services involve individuals under 18, comply with child protection laws and guidelines.

Hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) as required in NSW.
10. Feedback and Complaints

Welcome feedback to improve services.

Inform clients of their right to lodge complaints with the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC).
